Gun Violence Initiative

NOTES
PRECISIONeffect developed a brief, and asked the creative department to bring some ideas to the table. The singular message on the brief: Make your voice louder than the gun. The activating insight: When it comes to gun control, awareness is not the problem. The problem is people feel powerless. How do we give power to the people and drive change in legislation to enact more commonsense gun laws? We take it to the streets.

This project was developed for an MM&M gun violence design competition. Words by the brilliant Leah Nesje.

Phone booths deployed in major cities will grab the attention of passersby. Those interested in demanding smarter gun laws can step inside and pick up a phone. A digital display allows them to enter their state, dial up their local representative, and read off a script that speaks specifically to the commonsense gun law they want to see passed in their state.

The phone booth in each location would be a signature electric yellow, demanding attention. There would also be opportunity for each booth to have original and unique artwork by renown designers and words from gun violence activists.
